Animal Crossing: New Horizons is very popular in Japan.
According to the latest Famitsu data, Animal Crossing: New Horizons In the first three days of listing, 1.88 million copies were sold in Japanese retail stores.
This makes it the best-selling opening weekend ever for a Switch champion, a record previously held by Pokemon Sword and Shield, which sold 1.3 million (thanks Nintendo Everything).
The Animal Crossing chart only represents retail copies, game cards and Switch bundles. There are no digital sales reports, so, of course, digital sales will be bigger once numbers are taken into account.
Famitsu's number is 5,800 more than the 1.3 million vehicles reported by Geo earlier this week.
Between March 16 and 22, the Switch sold 392,576 units, compared with 57,274 units the previous week. This figure represents the standard Switch and Switch Lite. It was not noticed how many of these units were "Animal Crossing" bundles.
