New images from Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout series have been leaked, once again confirming a very faithful adaptation to video games.
There will have been a before and after of the series The Last of Us airing on HBO and Arcane on Netflix. These two disparate adaptations alone proved that it was possible to bring a video game and its universe brilliantly to the small screen. The next upcoming series is inevitably expected more at the turn. In view the Fallout series concocted by Amazon Prime. Several stolen images hinted at an ambitious project that stayed true to the source material. Filming has certainly ended, but since this weekend four new pictures have been circulating on the internet, showing a ghoul for the first time.
Four new images for the Fallout series
Video game adaptations are linked. The streaming giants grab the biggest licenses in the industry. So Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War or Assassin’s Creed are all big names that will come to our screens in the coming years. For its part, Amazon Prime Video got its hands on those Fallout series. An ambitious project carried by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, creators of Westworld. Few details are known at this time, other than that the adaptation will tell an original story and should therefore take some liberties with the storytelling of the games. The universe and atmosphere should remain intact, as evidenced by the first stolen images, which faithfully depict a post-apocalyptic world to the source material.
The new footage from the shooting of the Fallout series however, illuminate several elements. Four previously unpublished images of the Shelter 33 plateau have been circulating on the internet for a few days. It features two men in the famous blue bunker overalls, one giving us our first glimpse of ghoul makeup, the other sporting a Pip-Boy on his left wrist. In his right hand he holds the favorite drink of the residents of the Wasteland: a bottle of Nuka Cola. Netizens are generally reassured by these new images, although some aren’t yet fully convinced of the ghoul’s appearance. Still, it will be necessary to await the magic of post-production to form a final judgement. No release date on the horizon yet, but the series is Stand out should nevertheless be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video in the course of 2023.
