Despite the ongoing corona crisis, Intel appears to be launching its new Comet Lake family Core-i-10000 desktop processors in late May. At least that is what Wccftech claims to have learned from an unspecified source.

Intel has been releasing the Comet Lake S processors in April or May for some time now. The most recent announcement was made at the end of April.

As many companies, however, directly, for example due to disruptions in the supply chain, or indirectly are affected by the Corona crisis due to missing trade fairs, it is not a matter of course that Intel adheres to the supposed schedules.

When should Comet Lake-S launch?

According to Wccftech, one Announcement will be made on April 30th. At the same time, according to the anonymous source, the press embargo ends.

At the end of the month there appears to be a so-called paper launch, at which the official specifications are mentioned and, in all likelihood, the first benchmarks selected by the manufacturer will also be published.

The release or the Sales of the Comet Lake-S CPUs will then start on May 27th. The first real reviews will only be available if you believe Wccftech's source.

Why is Intel sticking to the supposed dates? One aspect could also be the subsequent competition from your own company, to which you may want to keep your distance.

This year, according to Videocardz, Intel's Rocket Lake-S processors are expected, which like Comet Lake-S will be manufactured using the 14nm process, but which, like AMD's Ryzen 3000, should have PCI Express 4.0 support.

In addition, Intel is likely to find any release advantage over the presumably strong competition from AMD in the form of the Ryzen 4000 generation expected at the end of 2020.

What do we know about Comet Lake-S so far?

Information about Intel's new desktop processors has been leaking from various sources for quite some time. In this respect, the specifications are largely secured (via Wccftech).
