In addition to Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso, we list the 7 “Cobra Kai” characters who should appear in the new “Karate Kid” film with Jackie Chan.
Now available on Netflix! The first five episodes of the final “Cobra Kai” season have started on Netflix. Season 6 will be released in three parts. We’ll tell you when you can expect the next batch of “Cobra Kai” episodes!
Next year, the cult film “The Karate Kid” is set to be continued. It has been confirmed that Ralph Macchio will return in his role as Daniel LaRusso and will meet Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han. This will be the first time that a bridge has been built between the cult films from the 80s and the 2010 remake with Chan and Jaden Smith.
The film is also set in the same universe as the hit series “Cobra Kai” and will probably also be related to the final season of the Netflix series. We’ll tell you which 7 characters from “Cobra Kai” absolutely have to appear in the film alongside Chan and “Cobra Kai” superstar Ralph Macchio!
We think it’s so likely that cult characters like Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and John Kreese (Martin Kove) will appear in the new “Karate Kid” film that we’re not including them in our list, but instead limiting ourselves to characters that were created especially for the series and will hopefully soon make the leap to the big screen.
Samantha LaRusso (Mary Mouser)
Samantha is the teenage daughter of Daniel LaRusso and is similar to him in many ways. In “Cobra Kai” she is dealing with problems in high school and is a victim of bullying. The sense of justice that she inherited from her father drives her to find her own self-confidence and strength through karate.
Throughout the series, Samantha masters martial arts to fight back against injustice, representing a new generation that embodies the power of karate and stands against bullying.
Although her father fought against the Cobra Kai dojo, Samantha tries to assert herself within them. She embodies personal growth and builds a bridge between the past and the present.
Amanda LaRusso (Courtney Henggeler)
Amanda is Daniel’s wife, Amanda and Anthony’s mother, and a real powerhouse. When tensions between her family and arch-enemy Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) threaten to escalate, she stands behind her family with complete determination. She repeatedly stands up for her loved ones and serves as an emotional support, especially for her husband.
Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan)
Robby Keene is the son of Johnny Lawrence and has struggled with his father’s emotional neglect throughout his life. Although he initially switches to the good side and joins Daniel LaRusso, his past becomes his downfall.
Manipulated by Cobra Kai masterminds John Kreese (Martin Kove) and Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), Robby finds it difficult to find his own balance. His role shows how his father’s past influences Robby’s inner conflict.
Tory Nichols (Peyton List)
Tory Nichols has a traumatic childhood and takes out her own discontent on Samantha LaRusso, who regularly torments her. Her backstory provides a more complex understanding of why teenagers bully their classmates and could have the potential to breathe new life into the story of the new “Karate Kid” film.
In the final season, Tory also changes sides after realizing that she herself has been manipulated and joins Johnny and Daniel. Tory’s actions are also the reason why Samantha becomes stronger and wants to constantly improve herself.
Miguel Diaz (Dawn Zone)
Miguel Diaz was once an outsider who was teased by his classmates. Under Johnny Lawrence’s guidance, he finds confidence and even dares to ask Samantha LaRusso out on a date.
After suffering a serious spinal injury in “Cobra Kai,” Miguel faces his greatest challenge yet and may have to redefine who he wants to become. His character reflects the inner conflicts of teenagers on the path to finding their own identity.
Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz (Jacob Bertrand)
Eli Moskowitz was once a shy outsider who was bullied and excluded and who found his self-confidence, but especially his dark side, through Cobra Kai.
Now called “Hawk,” he begins to bully his old tormentors and eventually becomes the very thing he sought to fight. When he sees how horrific violence is in real life, Hawk is forced to open his eyes and rethink his behavior.
Demetri Alexopoulos (Gianni DeCenzo)
Demetri Alexopoulus is a Miyagi-Do karate student who was trained by Daniel LaRusso after he opposed Cobra Kai, so he has experienced both worlds intensely. His role therefore represents the contrast between LaRusso’s teachings and the extreme methods of Cobra Kai.
Demetri’s development in Cobra Kai into a disciplined fighter willing to stand up for others despite lingering fears makes him an important example of the critical differences between the philosophies of the two dojos.
