Helicopters, tanks, landing craft: Delta Force is back and taking on Battlefield
The long break since the last series entry ends in 2024: With Delta Force Hawk Ops, the shooter series, which is over a quarter of a century old, presents itself in a graphically modern way. And what causes some raised eyebrows: It’s very much in the direction of Battlefield.
Hawk Ops relies on Free2Play and lets you compete against each o ther on large, partially destructible battlefields with tanks, helicopters and landing craft. In addition, the four soldier classes Assault, Sniper, Engineer and Medic are strongly reminiscent of the style of play that shaped Battlefield.

Vampire Survivors – This is what the trailer would have looked like if the Steam hit had been released in 1997
Ah, those were the times, when our hobby was still flickering in 4:3 format. In 1997, when kids with no money in their pockets stood in line for hours at the toy store to play Final Fantasy on the PlayStation on display. It’s exactly this nostalgia that Vampire Survivors wants to tap into in the trailer above.
And it works! You can see what the upside down Bullet Hell would have looked like if it had appeared before the turn of the millennium. Well, even if it had been developed by Squaresoft (now Square Enix) – the whole video is a loving reference to Final Fantasy 7.
