New film & series highlights in December 2020
John Wick (2014)
Keanu Reeves, who has been extremely popular not only with film fans but also with gaming fans since his appearance at E3 2019 (You’re breathtaking!), Plays the eponymous ex-contract killer John Wick.
After the death of his wife, he lives in seclusion in his luxury villa. Only the dog that his late wife gave him is still important to him. When three henchmen of a Russian gang boss break into him one night and kill the cute dog, John Wick returns from his retirement and starts a ruthless campaign of revenge.
If you like tough action, perfectly choreographed fights and of course Keanu Reeves, you should definitely take a look – or just to be on the safe side, read our film review of John Wick again beforehand.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017)
Three Billboards, which was nominated in seven categories at the 2018 Academy Awards, is also about a form of revenge.
Months after her daughter was raped and there is still no suspect, Mildred Hayes (Frances McDormand) messes with the local police – because she is beginning to doubt the authority of the officers. To boost the investigation, she rents three billboards at the entrance to the small town and places three provocative questions on them for the local sheriff (Woody Harrelson). When the deputy sheriff – an immature and highly aggressive mother’s boy – interferes in the conflict, the guerrilla war between mother and police escalates.
The bottom line is a pretty funny film that deals with the themes of grief, anger, revenge and violence – with a phenomenal Francis McDormand in the lead role. Must see!

Vikings – Season 6
After the Vikings are currently back in fashion after the release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Netflix is now bringing the sixth season of the action series to your screens.
Vikings is about the story of the legendary Viking chief Ragnar Lodbrok, his wife, the legendary shieldmaiden Lagertha, and her crew. The series is based on historical events from the Viking Age and mixes them with fictional elements.
Anyone who had fun with AC Valhalla and his Vikings (and possibly even ran into two of Ragnar’s sons) could also enjoy Vikings.
How the series and its elaborate fight scenes are created can be seen in Behind the Scenes:
