This is the new Warzone map Caldera

Name & first pictures: The tropical Pacific island on which we will play Warzone in the future is called Caldera. Warzone itself will be called Warzone: Pacific from the launch of the map. You can already get a first impression, the first pictures show the new Pacific setting:

How big is the new map?

Bigger and more packed: The map should be a little bigger than Verdansk, but much more packed. This should provide more variety, which most players should welcome after two years on the same map.

It is not known whether this will also affect the maximum number of players. In the Battle Royale, the well-known match sizes will probably remain, we are also counting on solos, duos, trios and quads as well as regular playlist rotation.

Which setting and which places are there?

This time the arena consists of an island in the Pacific Ocean, of course at the time of World War II. Thanks to palm beaches, spectacular rock formations and the deep blue sea, there is almost a bit of that holiday feeling – which is probably done quickly when the balls whistle around our ears. Nevertheless, the mood is already very different from that in the gray-brown Verdansk.

The screenshots show: There’s no full trailer yet, but during the Multiplayer-Reveals Vanguard showed short scenes from the new Warzone map. We have screenshots for you:

Among other things, these places can be seen:

  • Fishing village on the coast, further settlements in the interior
  • Hills in the interior of the island
  • Radio tower
  • Serpentinenstraßen
  • A bridge
  • A building labeled Royal, probably a hotel
  • A Vulcano

You can see a layout of the island caldera in the following tweet:

Are there any new vehicles?

Since Warzone is completely converted to the Second World War scenario from CoD: Vanguard, new vehicles come into play. In addition to the typical Army Jeeps, playable aircraft also come into play for the first time.

Dogfighting: There will soon be real air battles in Warzone, because various fan guns will be part of the vehicle fleet. In the planes you will not only be able to take other pilots, but also players on the ground with machine guns and bombs made of grain. So that they are not at the mercy of you completely defenseless, there will also be anti-air trucks equipped with anti-aircraft guns.

Will Verdansk be replaced?

And, Verdansk will be completely replaced by the new Pacific map and will probably be razed to the ground on November 30th and December 1st as part of a special event – at least the developers speak of it in their blog They pump the. The smaller map Rebirth Island, however, will be retained.

Story: How does the connection between CoD Warzone and Vanguard come about?

A new cinematic trailer shows how Warzone will continue to play in the past in the future: British Captain Carver Butcher is waiting in a bunker under Verdansk and explains that the hunt for the nasty Nazi henchmen will continue after the end of the second World War was not yet over:

Are there any seasons, events and extensions again?

Longer Support Planted: The developers promise again support and content replenishment for a longer period of time, the talk is currently at least the entire year 2022. Gradually, a lot of free content will appear, for example new game modes, special events and content from new multiplayer maps.

Does the anti-cheat come with the map?

Yes, the announced anti-cheat will take effect as soon as the new map is released. This is to finally put a stop to the cheater hordes that plague Warzone to this day. So far, however, some brazen fraudsters have shown themselves to be fairly unimpressed by the measures taken by the developers.

Rumor: Dynamic weather on the new map?

Weather events in Warzone? Well-known leaker Tom Henderson claims on Twitter that Call of Duty Vanguard is getting dynamic weather on the multiplayer maps. If that is the case, then for the first time there could also be weather events in Warzone, after all the two games share one engine and should be technically coordinated to a large extent.

However, nothing official is known about this yet, possibly the weather phenomena shown are not dynamic events at all, but fixed states on certain maps.

What do you think of the new Warzone map? Are you looking forward to the changes or will you miss Verdansk? Would you like a map rotation like in other Battle Royales? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
