Dragon Quest 3 Remake is finally coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo, and PC on November 14, 2024, and here are some great new images in the meantime.
Square Enix will play on the hearts of nostalgia with Dragon Quest 3 Remake. For this iteration, the Japanese publisher and developer has chosen its approach to HD-2D graphics, a direction we have already seen in Live a Live, Star Ocean or Octopath Traveler 2. This will allow us to rediscover the charm of yesteryear, when 3D was not yet possible, but with a much more flattering representation than on NES or SNES. DQ3 HD-2D Remake will be no exception and promises to be as enchanting as ever.
Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake gets new images
If you never played Dragon Quest 3 back then, it’s about time to do some catching up with the remake, which will be available on 14 November 2024 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). An ambitious remake from original creator Yuji Horii that will film in 4K at 60 frames per second on PC, while consoles (PS5, Xbox Series) will have two modes: “Framrate”, which favors 60 frames per second, and “Graphics”, which initially aims at 4K resolution. In addition, Dragon Quest 3 Remake will have new features such as auto-saving your progress, multiple difficulty levels and two camera angles.
But Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake will also claim a revamped story, new sequences where you can face new enemies, additional skills, and additional NPCs to chat with. We’re clearly in for a remake, and the stunning new visuals are convincing.
Note that a Dragon Quest 3 Remake collectible was announced, but it angered players, complaining about the 200 euro price tag compared to the content.
