The business outlook for video games is pretty bleak right now. Unprecedented layoffs, studio closures, developer downsizing, and the funding crunch many teams are currently facing paint a worrying picture for our favorite medium.
But as we continue to watch brutal cuts across the industry, it’s also worth encouraging those who have decided to take a risk and enter the industry during what is likely to be the most uncertain period the industry has ever seen.
in this case, Knight Peak.

Knights Peak is a newly formed label that specializes in publishing a range of premium (paid) games from small and double-A teams. The new publisher comes from My.Games, the company behind many free-to-play games such as Warface, Hawked, Conqueror’s Blade, and many more.
Knights Peak’s leadership is made up of industry veterans from companies such as Deep Silver, Sony, Gearbox, Embracer Group, and more. The division is starting out fairly small, with just five games. Some of the games are already playable, while others have been in various stages of development for some time.
At a press conference attended by iGamesNews, the publisher outlined its diverse portfolio of launch titles, including Starship Troopers: Extinction, Nikoderiko: World of Magic, Mandala, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, and Blast Brigade, and hinted at more to come.
Knights Peak is helping Offworld bring Starship Troopers: Annihilation The game will transition from Steam Early Access to consoles later this year. Extermination has an active player base and will soon be receiving significant new features.
Nicoderico is a quirky platformer that can be played solo or co-operatively (locally and online). It features a cleverly curved side-scrolling presentation, and 3D chase sequences inspired by Crash Bandicoot. Legendary composer David Wise is responsible for the music. It will be released this summer on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.
Mandrake is another game you may have seen or heard of before. This 2.5D side-scrolling RPG comes from Primal Game Studio, a small Hungarian team. Combining Metroidvania exploration with Souls-like combat, the action game presents two parallel worlds that you can explore using any of its six classes. Brian Mitsoda of Vampire: The Masquerade created the game’s narrative, so expect branching stories and alternate endings.
Mandragora was originally slated to be published by Marvelous Games Europe, but Knights Peak later acquired the publishing rights. Mandragora will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S later this year.
