Splitgate: Futuristic multiplayer shooter shows gameplay in the trailer
Fast shooting, but with brains
Splitgate is an arena shooter in the style of very old crackers like Quake or Unreal Tournament. So you compete against other players in different modes such as team deathmatch, showdown or capture the flag and move nimbly through various multi-storey arena levels. Of course, you shoot from all cylinders and choose from an arsenal of different weapons.
The special highlight at Splitgate: You can plant portals in the style of Portal 2 in the landscape and skilfully bypass the laws of physics. So you move quickly and unexpectedly behind opponents, flee to another floor for a short time or even shoot through the portals.
This feature adds a new dimension to the usual arena shooter gameplay, which also challenges your brain and rewards creative ideas. In combination with the fast movement, the trailer leaves a really fun impression.
The graphic style is based more on the colorful representatives of the genre. Together with humorous emotes like so-called »dabbing«, this creates a presentation that especially younger players might like.
Splitgate starts on July 27th with over 20 maps and 12 different competitive and casual game modes. The first person shooter also offers crossplay between PC, Xbox and Playstation.
