One of the most beloved video game franchises for video game fans is undoubtedly Sonic. The blue hedgehog will be 30 years old in 2021 since SEGA introduced him to us for Genesis, and it looks like he has a lot more to give us in the future.
Its arrival to the cinema with the movie in Live Action was a new renaissance for the franchise, which now will seek to regain its privileged place in the video game industry and for that SEGA will present multiple games in 2021 based on Sonic.
The year of the celebration will feature “new games, digital content, events, major announcements and a licensing program tailored to the franchise,” as revealed in a new marketing image that highlights the top numbers achieved in sales and revenue from the games and the film.
We’ll see what SEGA surprises us with next year, as Sonic has the potential to return to the forefront if used correctly, and could mark an evolution in video games if we are presented with a title similar to the new Crash Bandicoot or Ratchet & Clank.
