The remake of Knights of the Old Republic is known to be in trouble. Now, Embracer Group has confirmed that an AAA project has been handed over to another studio. Is it KOTOR?
A few months ago suggested a Messagethat the remake of Knights of the Old Republic was in trouble, which is why the title had to be postponed indefinitely. Now Embracer, developer Aspyr’s parent company, has confirmed that one of its AAA projects has been handed over to another studio. Although it was not specified which one it is exactly, the problematic background allows speculation that it is the KOTOR remake.
Embracer states that the reason for this decision is to ensure that the quality is at the level required for this title. However, the company does not expect any major delays in the development process due to the change of studio. This would contradict previous reports of Knights of the Old Republic being postponed, should Embracer actually speak of the remake.

In May, the company commissioned Saber Interactive (Evil Dead: The Game, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2) to help Aspyr develop the new edition. But who knows, it might be one of the other 25 AAA games Embracer plans to release by fiscal 2025-26. Without a doubt, however, everyone involved should be aware of the great expectations that the celebrated Star Wars title has.
