New World: Aeternum was announced for consoles just a few days ago and things are already getting serious, as a closed beta is fast approaching.
New World: Aeternum is coming to consoles on October 15th of this year. Before then, however, there is still a lot to do, including examining the cross-play qualities of the MMO. And that is exactly what will happen in July with your hard-working help.
From July 11th at 6:00 p.m. to July 17th at 6:00 p.m., a closed beta will take place for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, in which exactly this functionality will be tested. The Register for the beta is now available on the official New World website. All you need is an Amazon account and, of course, a bit of luck. The beta itself is confidential, meaning you are not allowed to comment on it or publish any kind of in-game material.
To ensure you don’t lose any time, the beta client will be available for download two days earlier, from July 9th at 6:00 p.m.
The console version has been specially adapted for these platforms, but – as mentioned – contains all the features of the PC version. Amazon Games will also enable and support cross-play between the platforms. On consoles, target locking, aim assist, a virtual cursor, controller navigation and accessibility should help with this.
In addition, New World: Aeternum also brings with it a wealth of new content that PC players will also have access to. There will be the first extensive PvP zone, a challenging new raid for ten players, solo trials in the endgame, improved leveling, new character archetypes, an improved dialogue system and more.
