On March 20, and before announcing its postponement to August 25, New World had presented one of the threats that will weigh on the players, namely the altered breaches. Today, the developers of Amazon's MMO focus on the great clashes between factions.

In a new blog post, we are reminded that we should fight the forces of the Alteration, but also the other players. At the start of the game, players must take possession of a territory and develop their defenses there. When they are attacked by the Alteration, we will speak of an altered invasion. When players attack the territory of another faction, it's simple, it's war!

First, future attackers will have to complete a number of tasks, in order to weaken the defenses. This done, they can declare war, and send the avant-garde, drawn among the three companies having pledged allegiance. Then the confrontation engaging 50 players on each side, an army will have to be formed. If the company is too small, then it will be possible to recruit in other companies, even in the faction which is not engaged. To facilitate coordination, the faction attacked will be able to choose the time at which it will have to defend itself, which will minimize situations where no one is there to play.

When the assault begins, players will be asked to succeed in conquering three rallying points before hoping to be able to break down the gate. On the defenders' side, siege weapons can be built. They will cost nothing, but their effectiveness will depend on improvements made within the game's progression system. On the attack side, you will have to spend combat tokens, allowing to buy seat platforms. Finally, both camps can use a selection of traps, including barrels of powder and mines. The set of weapons that will be available is detailed in the article on the official website.
