Nintendo is hosting a Nintendo Direct presentation this Thursday (October 6), during which the company will show off a world premiere trailer super mario bros movie.
This will be the first time we see the film’s main character, the famous plumber “traveling through an underground labyrinth with his brother to rescue a captured princess.”
The Super Mario Bros. movie was first announced in 2018, but it wasn’t until last year that we got an official casting confirmation. Chris Pratt (Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy) will voice Mario and Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) will voice Luigi.
Anya Taylor-Joy (“The Witch,” “Last Night in SoHo”) will play Princess Peach, Jack Black (School of Rock) as Bowser, and Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele) as Toad, Seth Rogen (The 40-Year – Old Maid, Neighbor) lends his ribs to Donkey Kong.
While many have had a headache for Pratt playing Mario, the actor promises that his accent on the plumber will be “unlike anything you’ve ever heard in the Mario world before.”
The film, co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, written by Matthew Fogg and directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Yelenick, was originally scheduled to hit theaters on December 21, but has since been delayed.
>While no reason for the delay was provided, new theatrical release dates have been set and will now be released in North America on April 7, 2023 and Japan on April 28, 2023.
