Nexus Mods, one of the world’s largest modding platforms, has just surpassed 10 billion total downloads of its entire game catalog. Yes, NSFW Skyrim mods definitely played a role in this achievement.
Apparently this is something the team behind Nexus Mods has been focusing on for a while (milestones, not NSFW mods), and it’s a cool way to see how popular modding has become, even if it’s been a thing for quite some time a period of time. Even did some fun pizza math to put the numbers into context and I’ll try to shamelessly go one for one by talking about porn.
iGamesNews
Nexus Mods community manager Demorphic explained in a news article: “These 10,000,000,000 downloads are spread across 539,682 mod files created by a vibrant community of 128,361 mod authors serving more than 47 million members service, modding 2,683 different games.”
To put this into context, they outline: “If every download was a footstep, you could walk to the moon 11 times, or [Skyrim’s] The Seven Thousand Steps to High Hrothgar 4,161,464 times. Or, if you prefer a food-based analogy: “If we celebrated every download with a slice of pizza, that pizza would be 15 times the size of the island of Manhattan.” “
However, we all know that’s not enough, so here’s some content of my own that will convey these numbers through the only medium we all understand and the field of modding that has played a part in Nexus Mods’ achievements – NSFW Skyrim mods .
Okay, so, there is a mod for Skyrim called Flower Girl. It adds female NPCs to the game that the Dragonborn can use to do bad things. please calm. As of this writing, Skyrim Special Edition and VR versions have been downloaded a total of 5,706,803 times on Nexus. So, if my math is correct, this milestone roughly equates to the platform consisting of just 1,752 different versions of Playgirl, all with that large a total of downloads.
Do you want more? Firstly, I imagine this statement comes up a lot when playing this type of mod, and secondly, here you go. ONights – NPC Sex Lives is a mod that, as the name suggests, provides realistic sex lives for NPCs in Skyrim “for the sake of setting the mood.”
Don’t worry, it tastes great. Seriously, the description clearly states that the couple will stop having sex if the player intrudes. Regardless, it currently has a total of 283,883 downloads.
That means you’d need about 35,225 versions of all downloads to reach $10 billion.
Congratulations, Nexus Mods.
