Niantic announces Campfire companion app coming to Pokemon Go this summer

Commitment Pokemon Go Social features will come to the game through Campfire, a social app created by Niantic Labs to help you discover other players, places and experiences.

The new social experience is a real social network that starts with a map and adds people, events, communities and messages.

Here, players can discover other people in their local area, message and share content with each other, organize events and meetups, and cultivate the kind of “real-world social connections” that Niantic loves.

Campfire is currently live in Ingress and will soon be available in all Niantic experiences, Campfire will be downloaded as a separate app that can be used to organize parties for things like raids and find other people during events or trades Play with.

Until then, players just need to keep using Discord, Facebook, and Reddit to keep teams moving, coordinating pals, and making deals.

Campfire is expected to launch sometime this summer.
