Earlier this month, we were wondering if the long-awaited live-action remake of The Master Chiefs of the Universe would be recasting the role of He-Man, and now we know the answer is yes. Nicholas Galitzine has landed the role.
The previous version of the project – which was ultimately abandoned by Netflix – was to be directed by the Nee brothers (The Lost City), with Kyle Allen (West Side Story) announced as Adam/He-Man. With Travis Knight (Bumblebee) and his writing partner Chris Butler (Kubo and the Two Strings) taking over the next film, the whole story is about to change again…

Amazon MGM Studios made the announcement on May 29, according to Deadline . Julie Rappaport, head of film production and development at Amazon MGM Studios, said: “We are thrilled to bring the beloved cosmic titans to the screen, and even more excited to announce that the talented Nicholas Galitzine will be our He-Man.”
Galitzine also shared the casting news on Instagram, expressing his excitement about landing his biggest onscreen role to date: “I am so proud to announce that I will be playing Adam, the Lord of Time in Masters of the Universe. It has always been a dream of mine to play someone with his heart, sense of humor, and heroic spirit, and I can’t wait to start acting.” The young actor has quickly risen to fame with major roles in hits like Red, White and Royal Blue, Bottoms, and The Idea of You.
While the basic plot may also change a bit before filming begins, the current official synopsis is as follows: “Masters of the Universe introduces 10-year-old Prince Adam, who crash-lands on Earth in a spaceship and is separated from his magical sword of power – his only connection to his home world of Eternia… After being tracked for nearly two decades… Prince Adam is sent back into space to defend his home planet from the evil forces of Skeleton King. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam must first uncover the secrets of his past and become He-Man: The Most Powerful Man in the Universe!” Hopefully, this seemingly cursed movie will actually happen this time and be released in the summer of 2026.
