Nicolas Cage: What are the actor and Hideo Kojima planning?

There is a lot to do at Kojima Productions, after all they are currently working on Death Stranding 2 and a still secret project. Maybe the actor Nicolas Cage has something to do with it, because he recently paid the game company a visit.

For Nicolas Cage, the trip to Kojima Productions does not mark his first foray into the world of video games. It was only recently announced at the Summer Game Fest that the actor will be appearing in the horror hit Dead by Daylight. But what exactly he and Hideo Kojima have to do with each other remains a mystery at the moment.

Kojima’s Twitter post itself doesn’t provide any insight into the purpose for which Nicolas Cage stopped by. In the tweet, the creative head only writes that he and the actor can be seen. Captain Obvious strikes again.

Now, of course, one can speculate whether a game with Cage is in the works. In addition to Death Stranding 2, in which Norman Reedus is once again involved, Kojima Productions is known to be working on a completely new Xbox game. In general, Kojima is a big fan of accommodating actors and other celebrities in his titles. Just think of the first Death Stranding, which featured Conan O’Brien, Edgar Wright, Sam Lake, Guillermo del Torro, and Geoff Keighley, among others.

Maybe Cage will have a cameo appearance in Death Stranding 2 or become part of the new project. It should also not be forgotten that Death Stranding is to be filmed. So there are more than enough options. However, there is of course a completely different explanation for Cage’s visit to Kojima Productions: he just wanted to look at the studio and Kojima himself is a self-confessed film fan.

Whatever the exact reason for the meeting, Nicolas Cage seems to have enjoyed it. That suggests a message he painted on one of the walls of Kojima Productions. Here it is written: “To Hideo and the team, thanks for the incredible tour!”
