Nightingale lost a large proportion of its active players shortly after its release in February 2024. But the survival game with a slightly Victorian setting is far from giving up and delivers with Update 0.3 a desired feature.
Offline mode is expected to bring about a turnaround
While at the time of release, SteamDB 47,569 simultaneously active players, there are currently only 2,030 at the daily peak. In the reviews The game has a mixed 62 percent positive user rating.
In addition to the poor performance, players complained about the lack of an offline mode, which further harmed the player due to server problems at launch.
The now released update 0.3 establishes an offline mode, whose Difficulty level for solo players has been adapted. In order to play the game offline, however, a new character must be created. However, those who have already played can at least skip the tutorial.
Aaryn Flynn, CEO of Inflexion Games, explained in a opinion:
“Offline mode was something we planned for Nightingale from the beginning, but we really underestimated how important it would be for many players at Early Access launch.”
He also assures that the mode will be further expanded and that wants to listen to players’ feedback in the future.
