Joker: Folie à Deux
After the big slap in the face of the first film, Todd Phillips returns with a proper, if somewhat special, sequel: “Joker Folie à Deux” actually has the peculiarity of flirting with the musical, but remains the dramatic ultra-noir thriller that was already there his predecessor. In the role of Joker we obviously find Joaquin Phoenix (who still won the Oscar for Best Actor for his interpretation of the character), while Lady Gaga will ensure the arrival of Harley Queen. A pretty crazy cast for a highly anticipated film that is very intriguing and also has a great responsibility to surprise again. Not easy.
- Go to the cinema: October 2, 2024
- director :Todd Phillips
- With : Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson
The apprentice
We know him best for his role as the Winter Soldier, but Sebastian Stan clearly steps it up a gear in “The Apprentice” by dressing up as a certain Donald Trump: the film actually tells the story of the famed American businessman’s rise to fame, in particular a pact with lawyer and political matchmaker Roy Cohn (played by Jeremy Strong). Directed by Ali Abbasi, this biography promises an in-depth look into the violent and ruthless sector of business. As a reminder, the latter has already participated in Season 1 of The Last of Us and is also the author of the excellent Les Nuits de Mashad in 2022. In principle it is good and we will therefore have to keep an eye on The Apprentice.

- director : Ali Abbasi
- With : Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Strong, Maria Bakalova
Lee Miller
The Second World War has always fascinated cinema, although it manages to recover certain original aspects of an event that we know all too well. In the feature film by Ellen Kuras (Ozark, Umbrella Academy), the famous Kate Winslet takes on the role of Lee Miller, a former Vogue model who decides to become a war photographer, one of the first women ever. Obviously, his experience and photographs quickly stood out, as did his determination and courage as he immersed himself in the horrors of the conflict: it is also a true story, carried forward by other characters named Andy Samberg, Alexander Skarsgård and Marion Cotillard.

My Hero Academia: You are next
Anime fans rejoice: My Hero Academia is returning to the big screen very soon with You’re Next, a film whose story takes place shortly after the Paranormal Liberation War. Here Izuku Midoriya and his classmates join forces to help the heroes hunt down the villains, a rather complicated mission when they face a huge fortress and in particular Dark Might, a mysterious man who claims to be the new symbol of the to be peace. IF you like explosive action, epicness and Japanese pop culture, you’ve come to the right place.

Love phew
In the 80s, Clotaire and Jackie meet again after years. When they were younger, they had a strong and unique love story, but the two people chose different paths: one in particular became a criminal after receiving a long prison sentence. When he is released, he learns that Jackie has married, but their story is not quite over yet… and above all, he finds it difficult to escape the vicious circle of violence. “L’amour ouf” promises to be one of the big, powerful films of 2024, bringing both blood and tears with a remarkable cast: Adèle Exarchopoulos, François Civil, Alain Chabat, Benoît Poelvoorde, Vincent Lacoste, Jean-Pascal Zadi , Raphaël Quenard, Élodie Bouchez… And everything is orchestrated by Gille Lelouche himself.
- Go to the cinema: October 16, 2024
- director : Gilles Lellouche
- With : Adèle Exarchopoulos, François Civil, Mallory Wanecque
Smile 2
Apparently nothing, the first had its small success and, as is often the case with horror films, a sequel is already preparing for release: Smile 2 will therefore take up the same particularly disturbing concept, namely that of an obsession that forces the victims to smile, but also to act in a rather… virulent way, shall we say. A blockbuster whose muse will be Naomi Scott, with the return behind the camera of Parker Finn, author of the first opus: let’s see if the whole thing is not taken lightly, but fans of thrills should probably find what they are looking for.
- Go to the cinema: October 16, 2024
- director : Parker Finn
- With : Naomi Scott, Rosemarie DeWitt, Luke Gage
Mr. Aznavour
This ambitious biopic directed by Mehdi Idir (La Vie Scolaire, Patients) and Grand Corps Malade is a very large project that focuses on the extraordinary journey of one of the greatest French-speaking singers in history: Mr. Charles Aznavour. And to interpret this unique personality, Tahar Rahim was chosen, who surprisingly resembles the author of some of the greatest musical classics of the language Molière. Suffice it to say, we base a large portion of the story on this highly anticipated biography.
- Go to the cinema: October 23, 2024
- director : Mehdi Idir, Big Sick Body
- With : Tahar Rahim, Bastien Bouillon, Marie-Julie Baup
The murderer
Not to be confused with David Fincher’s The Killer, which was recently released on Netflix. This other The Killer from the great John Woo offers a highly stylized adventure full of action and intricate choreography in which a hitman accepts a new contract after a mission fails. Note that if we find a large cast with Sam Worthington and Nathalie Emmanuel, it will be joined by Omar Sy in one of the main roles, while we will also see Eric Cantona. It’s pretty cool so far and we hope this original distribution comes to fruition. As a reminder, John Woo is the father of many great action classics such as Flip/Face or Mission Impossible II: The Killer, especially the “Western” adaptation of “The Killer”, which he directed in 1989 and which was then a Hong Kong -Film.

- director : John Woo
- With : Nathalie Emmanuel, Sam Worthington, Omar Sy
Venom: The Last Dance
Whatever we think of the first two Venoms, they were a box office hit and Sony therefore worked quickly to prepare a third part that would also conclude this story arc dedicated to the famous Marvel character. This time the symbiotes have found Earth and are heading straight to the blue planet to screw everything up: then it’s up to Venom to save humanity (for the first time) by using his still destructive abilities. A mega-blockbuster that will get people talking: it remains to be seen whether it will be so… or not.

- With : Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple
