Nintendo Denied Switch OLED model Will be more profitable than other consoles in the console series.
For the company, a rather rare move is that Nintendo responded to an article from Bloomberg-although not directly named-suggesting that the company will make more money on the OLED Nintendo Switch model than other models.
The report released last week stated that the Switch OLED was deliberately priced higher than the original Nintendo Switch or Switch Lite in order to provide Nintendo with more profitable profit margins.
Nintendo has issued a statement saying this statement is incorrect.
“A news report on July 15, 2021 (JST) stated that the profit margin of the Nintendo Switch (OLED model) will increase compared to the Nintendo Switch,” Nintendo Say in tweet“In order to ensure that our investors and customers understand it correctly, we want to make a clear statement that it is incorrect.
“We also want to clarify that we have just announced that the Nintendo Switch (OLED model) will be launched in October 2021, and there are currently no plans to launch any other models.”
This is contrary to many previous reports about plans to release a more powerful Nintendo Switch model in the future. We have been hearing reports about the new Switch model for some time, and rumors about hardware updates started as early as 2018.
This inspired Nintendo’s previous comments, in which the company’s own Doug Bowser said that Nintendo is “always looking for new technologies” but will not release new hardware announcements soon.
Whether it is profitable or not, the OLED Switch will help Nintendo increase its vault – not the company needs it. A recent report shows that Switch sales exceeded 84 million units, and Nintendo’s profit this year hit a record high.
The Nintendo Switch OLED will arrive on October 8th for $350. You can pre-order it here.
