As announced, Nintendo presented a slew of new trailers and some exciting announcements as part of a new Nintendo Direct today. Here is an overview of everything important.
Nintendo really didn’t splash out on the Direct for around 40 minutes and poured out a whole cornucopia of new trailers and announcements. There were indeed a number of exciting things.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Nintendo has actually announced a new 2D sidescroller and it should be released on October 20th, 2023. Also on board: four-player multiplayer and Mario can transform into an elephant. Wait, what?
Pikmin 1, 2 and 4
There was also something new about Pikmin 4, namely a new trailer that shows us night missions for the first time, among other things. And because Pikmin is so cute, Nintendo brought the first two parts to the eShop as switch ports as a shadow drop.
Princess Peach & Luigi’s Mansion
Nintendo has a game in the making about Princess Peach, but only mentioned it and hasn’t shown anything worth mentioning – the game doesn’t even have a title yet. Nintendo is also working on a remaster of the 3DS title Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. Both are due out next year.
Batman: Arkham Trilogy
Good news for fans of the fickle avenger: A compilation of all three Arkham parts will be coming to the switch in autumn, including all additional content and DLCs. And by the trilogy we mean Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight – Origins is not included.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Another classic is taken out of the dustbin and given a remake. This time it hits the SNES classic Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, which is due to be released in a new form on November 17th for Nintendo Switch.
Detective Pikachu Returns
Three years ago it was hinted that Detective Pikachu would have a successor and now it’s finally official and confirmed. Detective Pikachu Returns is the name of the new part and is scheduled to go live on October 6th for the Nintendo Switch.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince
The well-known Dragon Quest series is being replenished. Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince will be released on December 1st and will once again give you plenty of opportunity to collect monsters, as well as turn-based battles and, of course, a story that will take you to the demon realm of Nadiria.
Apart from that, there were some new trailers for Sonic Superstars, the new DLC for Pokémon Crimson and Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1.
