Nintendo launches a new Nintendo Switch advertising video within its "play together" campaign that focuses on showing local multiplayer games around the console with titles like Super Mario Maker 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The console maintains its strong sales rhythm: We recently knew that it rocked 56 million consoles, a milestone reached in the three years that have passed since its launch in March 2017.
This strong sales rhythm can still be maintained for a time, as Nintendo considers the console is in the middle of its business cycle. In fact, the forecasts for the fiscal year -which ends on March 31, 2021- are 19 million.
The volume sales forecast by Nintendo is somewhat lower than in the last fiscal year as the company has been forced to reflect the cease in manufacturing and distribution that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought about.
The health of the console is beyond doubt: combined sales of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Pokmon Sword and Shield, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Switch it is already higher than the sum of the sales of all Wii U games.
