A major new system update for the Nintendo Switch brings various improvements and useful features with it.
Last night, Nintendo surprisingly released a huge system update for the Nintendo Switch. With the extension to the Version 11.0.0 Among other things, the manufacturer updates the home menu and adjusts some options in the system configurations. Nintendo is pursuing the goal of greater user-friendliness with the new firmware, while more recently the stability of the system has been more important. If your console does not get the update automatically, you can perform the corresponding update manually in the system settings under System.
All new features at a glance:
- The online service Nintendo Switch Online now appears in the home menu of the console: You can find the service under a new button in the lower bar of the menu. If you press it, you will find a quick overview with quick access to all relevant online services, such as the available online games and NES / SNES classics. From here you can also manage your cloud data and memberships.
- Automatically download saved data in the cloud: If you have connected several consoles to the save data cloud, you can now automatically load the saved states onto all of your switches. You just have to give permission in the control panel. If there is no save data for a game, you have to start the download manually.
- Favorite games of your friends: If you take a look at your user profile, you can now find out which games are currently very popular with your friends. This includes titles that your friends have just played or recently started.
Simplified data transfer:
Nintendo built some features into the firmware that should make your everyday life with the console easier:
- Smart device support for videos and screenshots: With the update you have the possibility to transfer your collected screenshots and clips to your smart devices in the future. A simple wireless connection between the devices and the switch is sufficient. A maximum of ten screenshots and one video can be transmitted simultaneously.
- Manage download priorities: If you are planning several downloads, you can now prioritize them. In the download options you can adjust the order using the respective icon of the game.
