In April, Nintendo is once again putting together a small package of classics from the past that you can play as part of a Switch Online subscription. This time three SNES titles are added to the game library.
Something is happening again with Nintendo Switch Online in the current month of April, as the Japanese are once again releasing some classics that you can play as part of the subscription at no additional cost. Three SNES classics are added to the game library.
Specifically, these are the titles Super R-Type, Amazing Hebereke and Wrecking Crew ’98. Since all of these are previous SNES games, all Switch Online subscribers will have access to the fresh retro games. As is known, as part of the standard subscription, there are earlier NES, SNES, Game Boy and Game Boy Color games in the game library; anyone who has subscribed to the more expensive Expansion Pass also receives earlier N64, SEGA games. Genesis and Game Boy Advance games included.
Amazing Hebereke was developed by Sunsoft and originally released in 1994. In games with four players, you compete in battles on different stages, where various items and traps can be found. You can take advantage of the latter, but you should avoid it as much as possible. You can play in single player or in versus multiplayer for 4 players. The title is now appearing in the West for the first time via Switch Online.
Super R-Type is a side-scrolling space shooter that was released in 1991 by Irem. As in other arcade shooters, here you control a spaceship, have to collect power-ups and fight your way through seven challenging levels including bosses.
Wrecking Crew ’98 was a Japanese-only action puzzle game released at the end of the SNES’s lifecycle. At this point, the N64 had already been on the market for two days. It is a sequel to the original NES game, where you have to solve various destruction-based puzzles in battle against opponents. Among other things, you can control Mario, but also some old and new opponents.
All games will be available via Switch Online from today, April 12th.
