Nintendo Switch Online: Two Mario classics coming soon in an expansion pack

More or less regularly, Nintendo continues to expand its Switch Online offering. Two previous Mario classics are now joining the portfolio.

While Microsoft and Sony prefer to donate more current titles for free in their paid online service, Nintendo has always focused on earlier classics with Switch Online. The regular subscription includes titles from the NES and SNES times, but the more expensive subscription level also includes access to N64 and SEGA Genesis classics – and this is exactly where there will be growth again shortly.

None other than the most well-known Nintendo character, namely Mario, will soon be doing the honors via Switch Online + Expansion Pack. From November 2nd, the first two games of the sub-franchise Mario Party will open there.

Mario Party and Mario Party 2 join the ranks of many other classic Nintendo games; recently, for example, GoldenEye and Earthworm Jim joined the line-up. The first Mario Party that follows was released in Japan in 1998 and then also in the West in 1999, and as a party game it offers a number of fun mini-games. Mario Party 2 was released as a sequel a year later – in 1999 in Japan and 2000 in the West. Here then were a number of new mini-games on board.

Since then, this franchise has been continuously expanded and now has 11 titles in the main series. Super Mario Party was last released in 2018.
