Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Zelda story even bigger!
Zelda Breath of the Wild left its mark on many thanks to its magnificent and finely crafted open world, but above all to its universe full of details.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity takes us through the events that took place 100 years before Breath of the Wild, when Link lost the battle and slept for a full century.
For this episode, Nintendo wanted to change the game genre by offering us a Beat Them Up à la Dynasty Warriors. The goal is to face large waves of enemies, all in the context of the war that was raging in the Kingdom of Hyrule.
While not all content in the Zelda story is canon, many details will emerge from this game. Many events mentioned or shown in the Breath of the Wild cutscenes will end in this game.
If you loved Zelda Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors is a must-read if you’re the type of guy who likes expanded universes.
You can play multiple characters from the Zelda universe to fight all enemies in Hyrule Kingdom. Whether it’s Link, Zelda or even the 4 prodigies from Breath of the Wild, they’re all playable in this game.
The combat system may seem simple, but it offers many possibilities and subtleties. Cutscenes will teach you more about the Zelda story.
The opinion of
Yuriky00
If Hyrule Warriors disappoints a bit with its scenario and engineering, the same cannot be said for its gameplay. In absolute terms, the combat system is very classic, you can alternate simple attacks and powerful attacks to create more or less impressive combos, each with its own utility. Some allow you to send a lot of enemies in the air to chain them, and others use the peculiarities of our character. Add to that BOTW’s perfect dodge, a special move that relies on a gauge that fills with each hit, and the Sheikah Tablet, which allows for long-range use of Magnetis, Cryonis, Cinetis, and the Bombs.
