The Nintendo Switch era is coming to an end, and according to the latest forecasts, the new Zelda Tears of the Kingdom will be the last major title before the Switch 2 release.
In 2017, Nintendo released the Switch alongside the popular action-adventure game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The sequel The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on May 12, 2023, but after that there may not be any major game productions for this Switch generation, as industry insiders indicate.
Christopher Dring, games expert at GamesIndustry.biz, assumes that Nintendo will not offer any major titles for a long time after Tears of the Kingdom.
Andy Robinson, owner of the online magazine Videogameschronicle, also doesn’t see a major Nintendo release for the switch once Tears of the Kingdom is out.
These are just rumors or assessments by industry experts, but given the switch’s long market presence, these are definitely within the realm of possibility.
Robinson also promises that Nintendo will talk about a successor console again in 2023, which could be called Nintendo Switch 2. It might come out in 2024 or 2025.
