I suggest you set up a full set of elixir, as many antidote as possible to fight the poison, and some bombs or a full set of arrows and bullets to deal with the threat from a long distance.
You can also bring Purification or Elemental Amulets to the party to deal additional Ki or debris damage, but this is not required. Yatsu-no-Kami likes one or two good Burst Counters, so running out of Ki with pure refinement can help you get rid of some struggles after crumbling.
Nioh 2 – How to Defeat Iori
The image below embeds my success from Nioh 2's first blind game. I played it very, very carefully, because I worked very hard until then. It gives you the overall idea of how to use the size of the field to leverage your strengths and win through attrition. This is by no means a perfect example, but it shows how to get the job done.
After entering the arena, the dodge rolled away. If you have, now you have a moment to inject magic into the amulet.
You have two main opportunities to punish Yagi. The first is when it reaches the bottom of the snake's arms to make them explode towards you.
When you do this, start sprinting from the red circle on the ground above your mouth and extend towards the body's arc. After the snake emerges, but before the "god god" resets itself, you have a small window that can be broken.
The second chance is with the outbreak counter. Here, the boss glides along the length of the arena with the narwhal ivory.
Once the snake is on the ground, it cannot explode. You need a countermeasure because it is diving to the ground. If you missed it, avoid obstacles and reshape it to go again. Once the god of the eight gods reaches the other end of the arena, it will repeat the attack once.
If you find yourself behind the main snake, step back quickly. It will only hit you with the tail, causing you trouble.
In most cases, the main snake disappears with a long tail attack. Even if you need a lot of stamina, you can stop it with your main weapon.
This also applies to the paralyzing needle it fires at you, and the slam that it will make when it tilts backwards. Keep your distance and be alert.
However, you need to avoid the green spots and block them as a poison, so please bring some antidote.
Don't be greedy when away from attacks. When approaching too long, one of two things will happen. Yatsu-no-Kami will force you to death with an irresistible black and white blurry dark realm attack, or it will hit your mouth with its nasty fist.
Speaking of snake arms, they can be individually damaged, and when you run out of the subject's stamina, they will become their own independent enemies in the Yokai realm.
They vomit poison and are usually annoying.
To deal with these issues, you can go around the arena like in the video and wait for Yokai Realm to disappear. Alternatively, you can lock the smaller snake and throw a bomb or arrow at it.
Once the Yokai realm times out, the snake will re-grow on the subject, so there is not much motivation to complete them.
If you still use large-scale weapons like Odachi and they are still attached to the subject, you may be able to catch smaller snakes with lower health as you pass by-but as I said, it doesn't matter. You just need to stay alive in this section and use Burst Counters breaks where possible.
In the end, you will have the hardest win in the game to date.
