No Man’s Sky was also recently honored at the State of Play at Sony PlayStation – and for a reason: There will be a special and fully-fledged game version for the new VR headset PlayStation VR 2.
After initial difficulties, the space adventure No Man’s Sky has developed into a long-running hit – also because Hello Games regularly reworks, provides fresh content and optimizes the title. In the past, a VR experience of the game was made possible on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Valve Index and PlayStation VR – and in the future PlayStation VR 2 will also be added.
For the original PlayStation VR, Hello Games rebuilt No Man’s Sky from the ground up. Overhauled were the cockpits, control systems, landing vehicles, menu systems, interfaces, teleportation controls, terrain manipulation, warp effects, and more.
What the developer studio has specifically planned for PSVR 2 should be presented in the coming months. However, Hello Games believes that the power of the PS5 coupled with PSVR 2 and the Sense controllers can provide unprecedented immersion and credibility. There are said to be several major advances compared to previous VR implementations.
