No Man’s Sky has received another packed update.

No Man’s Sky sends you on a journey through almost infinite expanses – which are now getting a little bigger. Is this sentence mathematically sound? I have no idea, you’ll have to ask an expert. But what we can tell you are the most important innovations in the Interceptor update.

What’s in the new update?

The dewy gameplay trailer introduces the Interceptor update in under two minutes:

No Man’s Sky introduces the new giant update Interceptor

The most important innovations:

  • Mysterious threat: The Sentinels, so to speak the guardians of the universe of No Man’s Sky, have fallen victim to a mysterious corruption. You can now explore new worlds affected by this corruption – and mine valuable crystals there.
  • New spaceships: You can expand your fleet with new interceptor ships that use previously unseen technologies. If space battles are more your thing, take on the massive Sentinel ships.
  • New Enemies: In addition to corrupt Sentinel drones, there are other new enemies waiting for you, such as machine spiders with flamethrowers. Great.
  • Neue VR-Features: Those who play No Man’s Sky on PSVR2 now get more features and better interfaces

The full patch notes you can read here (in English).

When will Interceptor appear? The major update will be available for download on April 5, 2023. As usual, it’s free for owners.

Meanwhile, No Man’s Sky has little in common with the base game that was released in 2016. Many huge updates have greatly expanded the universe, introduced completely new features and changed so much that it is beyond the scope of this article to list everything.

In our March 2023 post-test, you’ll find out how the game fares today and why it nearly earned a 90 rating. It is quite possible that one day it will take this hurdle, because it will not be the last major update: According to the developer Hello Games, content will continue to be replenished in 2023. Of course we’ll keep you up to date and watch No Man’s Sky if something big happens again.
