No Rest for the Wicked players have been waiting a long time for this game, but the second major Early Access patch for the action-RPG is finally here. This is easily the biggest update for the game yet, arriving just over a month after launch.
Early Access Patch 2 brings the oft-requested features of changing button remapping on controllers, as well as the ability to use weapons even if they don’t meet their required stats.

Moon Studios released a major update this week to celebrate the one-year anniversary of No Rest for the Wicked. The inability to remap buttons on the controller has always been a weird omission, so I’m glad it’s finally here.
Beyond that, a major quality of life improvement has been made with weapon trials, which essentially means you can equip any weapon you come across, even if your character doesn’t meet its required attributes. This is a feature that most RPGs offer, but at the cost of you dealing much less damage. Now, No Rest for the Wicked offers this feature, too.
Speaking of items in your inventory, the patch lets you dock items for easier comparison. Simply press the Y/Triangle key on your controller and you’ll be able to compare that item to any other item you hover your cursor over.
Another major feature of this patch is the ability to reassign your character. If you visit the statue in the Cerim Crucible Atrium and interact with it, you will be given the option to reassign attribute points. However, this is not free, as each point you reassign will cost one Fallen Ember.
The quality of life changes continue with the stamina HUD getting a major boost in brightness, making it easier to see in combat. In fact, you can now control the brightness of individual HUD elements like the stamina wheel, NPC name tags, and more. Another HUD visibility tweak is coming to the device’s bumper buttons, specifically for the Steam Deck.
The vendor screen is also now sorted by item type, and the Cerim Crucible floor also has a floor indicator that you can see under the clock HUD. The patch adds DLSS 3.7 and FSR 2.2 upscaling support, as well as a range of CPU and GPU optimizations to improve game performance.
