No, you haven’t lost it: The last patch for Helldivers 2 does seem to bring some changes, but they don’t quite make it to Arrowhead’s notes

Even though the notes for Helldivers 2’s latest patch are longer than some books, it seems like some changes have gone unnoticed and unmentioned for various reasons.

As the studio begins to reveal/tease some of the weapon and gear changes that will be included in a patch that will likely be released at some point after Patch 1.001.100, players on the game’s Discord server have been asking about some of the changes they believe they’ve noticed while playing the game following the release of the latest patch, which Arrowhead didn’t seem to mention or properly explain. Well, until now.

“Regarding the frequently asked questions regarding the changes or ‘invisibility’ nerfs expected in the latest patch, my esteemed colleagues and I did some digging and managed to find some more information,” Arrowhead community manager Twinbeard wrote in a recent announcement on the server, adding that the content he was going to quote included some sections written by the developers.

“As you can tell, this patch has a lot of changes,” the post reads, “which means the risk of some successes and failures will inevitably increase. Some of these were things we didn’t mention in the patch notes, some were intentional, some were poorly explained, and one or two things were changed unintentionally. Also, please remember that everything in the game is subject to change and is never set in stone. As always, please reply with your thoughts on these. Thank you so much for your feedback!”

Twinbeard then listed a number of changes and commented on whether or not they were intentional by the developers and whether or not they were written into the notes for patch 1.001.100:

  • Heavy machine gun angle and durability damage weakened [from] 50 [to] 35. “This is intentional, but not mentioned in the patch notes.”
  • Railgun AP bonus removed from overcharge (no longer climbs to AP7 at 90% charge). “This was intentional, if so we forgot to add it to the patch notes. The reason for this was to not make the railgun too good against tanks and factory walkers. However, the frontal armor changes to tanks do not conflict with this change. We still don’t want railguns to bounce off frontal armor, so maybe we need to look at this.”
  • Anti-tank mine damage reduced by 1 000 [to] 800, explosion radius increased, stun power increased by 30 [tp 50, demolition force increased 30 [to] 40. “This is intentional, but not mentioned in the patch notes.”
  • Despite what the patch notes say, the laser cannon cooldown is not being sped up. “This was something we wanted to do originally but it was removed and it just wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes.”
  • Rover, the guard dog, can set a target on fire much faster. “That’s intentional too.”
  • Fire Point Damage Durability Damage increased 25 -> 50. “Yes, you guessed it: this is also intentional and not mentioned in the patch notes. We’ll look into it and see if it should stay as is. It does also make Molotov and Picnic better, both of which we know are popular weapons.”
  • Hell Pod impact damage increased by 200 [to] 2 500; does not affect Firebomb Hellpods. “This is intentional and part of the ‘damage scaling’ we mentioned in the patch notes. We didn’t communicate this very clearly, but since we increased the health of Heavy enemies, we needed to increase the damage of the Hellpod so that it can still kill them.”

Finally, the article ends with “For the Flame Hell Pod, we forgot to increase its damage.”
