One of the genres that has received the most novelties in recent years, especially from independent developers, has been the metroidvania. Cases like the recent Blasphemous 2 highlight that the genre is experiencing a great moment, not only because of the great titles that are reaching a playable level, but also because in the last decade we have seen some of the most beautiful games in history.

If we talk about beautiful games and metroidvania, there is one saga that stands out above the rest, and that is Ori. Moon Studios surprised with its first work in 2015 with Ori and the Blind Forest, and later did the same again with Ori and the Will of the Wisps, offering two wonderful games in all aspects. Although these were exclusive to Xbox at launch, the truth is that they can be purchased for Nintendo Switch, being the best option to enjoy both Ori: The Collection
As its name indicates, this product includes the collection of the two games in the franchise, making it ideal for all those who have not yet enjoyed Ori’s adventure. The first thing that stands out is the visual strength of its two games, something that earned Moon Studios to earn praise from both the specialized press and the general public. But the truth is that both games involve much more.
Both Ori and the Blind Fores and Ori and the Will of the Wisps offered me two of the most satisfying gameplay experiences I’ve had in recent years. In the case of the first title in the series, I found a game that had great ideas and executed them quite well
However, Moon Studios’ real milestone was with Ori and the Will of the Wisps. The game not only improves the gameplay of its predecessor, offering a much more refined metroidvania experience; but also has an even more powerful graphic section. But if I take away something from this game, it is its wonderful story. Few games have managed to convey to me the same thing that this one achieved in just a few minutes, and that became stronger as the hours went by. Without a doubt, a game that I would recommend to everyone.
