Two years after its release, the excellent Steam Deck reached a particularly symbolic threshold. One sign, among many others, that Valve’s console is a real success.
By playing with the SteamDB filters, we can actually see that the number of games compatible with the Steam Deck has increased! Valve’s optimization work on its flagship console is particularly exemplary and has led to critical and commercial success.
Almost 15,000 games are already compatible with the Steam Deck
The Steam Deck was launched almost exactly two years ago and has left a significant mark on the hardware world. If PC/portable console hybrids had seen the light of day before, it was Valve’s device that truly reinvigorated the trend. Since then, we’ve seen the emergence of many competitors, most notably the ASUS ROG Ally and the MSI Claw. The device owes this success in particular to the exemplary work of the employees at Aperture Science…Valve.
Whether it’s the operating system’s wonderful adaptation of Steam to the portable format or the optimization of games, the console is well received by its developers. So today we can count over 14,000 compatible games. Around 4,600 of them are “verified”, a sign of perfect compatibility. Almost 10,000 are “playable”. Their operation therefore requires minor adjustments for better playing comfort.
