As part of the Activision Blizzard takeover, Microsoft had already announced that it had reached an agreement with NVIDIA, among others, and it is bearing fruit.

In the hope of getting approval from the international authorities for the takeover of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft had reached an agreement with NVIDIA, among others, to also bring games from Xbox Game Studios to GeForce NOW and thus to the cloud. As we know, that only helped to a limited extent. While the EU Commission gave its approval, the British CMA continued to oppose it.

But that doesn’t stop Microsoft and NVIDIA from fulfilling their agreement, because now a first title from Xbox Game Studios is coming to NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service. Starting tonight, Gears 5 is playable in the Steam version via GeForce NOW.

This is meant to be just the tip of the iceberg for now, as more Xbox PC titles via Steam are set to follow soon, starting with Deathloop, Grounded and Pentiment on Thursday 25th May. Microsoft Store support will also be available in the coming months.

Apart from that, there is a new version of the GFN app that is being distributed to members starting now. It brings promotion tags for games across the PC and macOS app, allowing members to see highlights like new DLC, discounts, free games and more.

In addition, more games are coming to the cloud gaming service this week. Aside from Gears 5, Tin Hearts (Steam release May 16th) and The Outlast Trials (Steam release May 18th) will also be available on the cloud gaming service.
