One of the “super powers” of fanboys, whether or not they are, is their tirelessness. Flawless, they are always where we wait for them to come spoil the discussions sing the praises of the subject of his loyalty and smash the sugar on the back of what they perceive as his “competition”. Instead of ignoring the PS5 fanboys who occupy its mentions, the Xbox official Twitter account decided to reach out to them directly.

In a tweet published last Friday, the official US Xbox Twitter account spoke directly to PS5 players. And especially to the fanboys who systematically criticize the Xbox consoles, their games and services in the replies to each of their tweets. True to his strategy over the last few years, Phil Spencer’s company has played the appeasement card:
To the people in our replies who say “PS5 is better”:
The best console is the one you love to play. Have fun!

To the people in our mentions who say “the PS5 is better”:

Unsurprisingly, this tweet changed absolutely nothing. In fact, many of the responses he received matched the ones he was referring to.
Industry doesn’t matter
Aside from that, this post also sparked a reaction from Cory Barlog, Creative Director of Sony Santa Monica. In response, God of War director Ragnark praised the message sent by Xbox:
– cory balrog 🖖 (@corybarlog) July 16, 2021
And Cory Barlog isn’t the only industry representative who responded to that Xbox tweet. Kenji Anabuki, director of Scarlet Nexus, also responded and agreed to the message sent by Microsoft:
That’s true.
You will have a great experience on both consoles.
And developing it was a lot of fun. pic.twitter.com/7RNxOk2HIy–Kenji Anabuki / Kenji Anabuki @ Scarlet Nexus 6 / 24-25 released 🐕 (@shibainu_kenji) July 17, 2021
This is true.
You will have a great experience on any console.
And developing (of Scarlet Nexus) was a lot of fun. David Candland, UX Design Director at Monolith Productions (Middle Earth: Shadow of War) and former Bungie (where he worked on licenses like Halo and Destiny) also responded to this tweet, but with a different message:
For me, the best console is the one that all my friends play on.

For me, the best console is the one that all my friends play on.
And if some people find that Microsoft’s post is inconclusive, Xbox posted another one tweet in which he declares that “the positivity continues until the conversation improves“Of course, this is where Xbox is trying to tackle environmental pollution in gamers who talk on social media, but it’s not sure that it works.
