omega striker just announced! Odyssey Interactive just revealed its premier title featuring ex-employees from a slew of industry giants including Riot Games. A 3v3 competitive sports x fighting game, you can apply to enter the closed beta now.

While currently only playable on PC, news of a future mobile and console version is apparently imminent. So if you like the look of the trailer below, but the sight of the keyboard terrifies you, hopefully the wait won’t be so bad.

Check out the new trailer here!

Gameplay is about two three-man teams ramming each other in the arena to clear the way for a shot. It’s like the sci-fi version of football you’d wish you had as a teenager, where you could just bump into the guy who actually spent his free time working out and football practice.

Dax Andrus, co-founder and president of Odyssey Interactive, said: “Odyssey was founded to inspire the next generation of players to compete – we believe it will be the largest, most inclusive and most connected game ever made.” Omega Strikers builds on what our seasoned team has learned while running some of the world’s most popular multiplayer games. Today, we’re excited about the launch of Omega Strikers on PC into closed beta This is an important first step in our journey to create a game that will inspire players now and for years to come.”

As you might expect, Omega Strikers is a character-based game, which means you can play a range of different avatars, all with their own moves and complexities. I personally love giant guinea pigs because they remind me of a big guy who used to work at the local chip shop. I’m pretty sure he’s evading taxes, but I bet he’ll be good at it in Omega Strikers.

For this article on Omega Strikers, not only did I have a bad Segway in mind, I actually played it during a super-secret press conference and competition earlier this week. It’s so much fun, filled with fast-paced action and exciting characters that it really muddies the experience every time. I was beating people most of the time and it kept my team more focused on the goal. Smarter people might say that the game allows for “various expressions of playstyles”, but honestly I have a real gripe with an enemy team and don’t want them to have any fun.

Don’t take my word for it though, the closed beta should be live by now. To apply, visit the official website!
