However, XDefiant’s launch was not spared from technical issues. From the start, the game had several connection problems, including high latency, players’ inability to matchmake, and unexpected disconnections. Ubisoft nevertheless responded in the best possible way and corrected the situation a few hours later. XDefiant is now ready to welcome players and stand out in a genre dominated by giants. It remains to be seen whether the game’s free-to-play model, seasons, and battle passes will manage to maintain the community’s interest in the long term and allow XDefiant to compete on equal terms against such imposing games as Call of Duty.
