One of his next big games has leaked again

Big, Games, leaked

One of the big upcoming SEGA games is being talked about again after other similar appearances thanks to a leak. However, this should be taken with a grain of salt.

SEGA is aiming for a remarkable and nostalgic comeback by bringing many iconic licenses from its portfolio back to the forefront. Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage and even Crazy Taxi will be entitled to reboots/remakes over time, which were probably closely watched by early fans and which the new generation might enjoy. The latter in particular is once again the subject of a leak.

Another leak about the big return of Crazy Taxi from SEGA

If we are to believe the latest rumors about the return of these legendary SEGA licenses, Jet Set Radio would be the first to get a major facelift, followed by a free-to-play service inspired by the license. Then the field would be open for Crazy Taxi, with a reboot/remake and another free-to-play game. It is precisely this famous reboot that shows what’s under the hood via a leaked gameplay excerpt.

The leak in question comes from Ryan from the Bronx. This would have recovered a relatively early recording of the reboot ordered by SEGA. However, the video you can see below is from 2022. Things may have changed in the meantime. If we clearly find the crazy side that made the Crazy Taxi license so legendary, some users who reacted to the leak believe that the driving here is too “rigid” compared to the original games.

Therefore, this leak should be taken with a grain of salt. Especially since SEGA has not yet announced an official release date for the Crazy Taxi reboot. According to previous leaks, the publisher plans to release this new generation of Crazy Taxi in 2027 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2. The wait for the taxi could be long if it is confirmed. Anyway, we have an official idea of what to expect in this closely watched return. SEGA had in fact already set the road plan for the latter: it should be an open-world game with a focus on multiplayer. The fun and freedom characteristic of the license should definitely be there, as well as its crazy side, as shown by the leak of an early version of the reboot below.
