Now there are actually no more excuses: If you love building games, but have never been able to get through to Frostpunk, then you should seize the opportunity now at the latest. The construction masterpiece is currently being offered on Steam at a lower price than ever before.
Even more: It’s not just the main game that’s reduced. You even get all the DLCs if you choose the Game of the Year Edition. Then you pay for Frostpunk and its three expansions only 13 dollars. So about as much as for a large salami pizza.

Why a masterpiece?
Frostpunk is one of the best building games of the last five years, and it is a very unusual representative of the genre. Frostpunk is characterized by the fact that there is more to it than just expanding the city, optimizing goods flows and ensuring that there is always enough food in the granary.
In Frostpunk, you must take responsibility for the survival of humanity as it tries to endure the longest winters of all time. But as the game progresses, the situation becomes so tricky that sooner or later you will have to enter morally difficult areas.
So Frostpunk requires you to make really tough decisions, and even then there’s no guarantee that you’ll survive the winter. Thrills are guaranteed! It’s best to read our test as well:
Even better with DLCs and more coming soon
The extensions are also worth checking out. Especially now, when you really don’t have to put down much cash for it. In The Last Autumn, for example, you experience the prelude to the main game and how the ice age slowly begins to cover the land in a blanket of snow. The Rifts, however, adds bridges as a new game mechanic and thus expands the strategic depth. In the video you can see how good the overall package feels:

Frostpunk with DLC – One of the best building games you can play right now
By the way, right now is a perfect time to play through Frostpunk. After all, the successor was only recently announced, for which you can prepare so perfectly. Of course, the great winter will continue to play an important role here.
However, the developers have already indicated that Frostpunk 2 will be somewhat different than its predecessor. Among other things, oil should be available as a new resource. Don’t expect your morale to be tested any less here, though.
