One of the biggest Final Fantasy comes as a surprise and confirms a rumor from this summer. This popular game, one of the franchise’s biggest hits, is back.
The FF7 Remake 3 project continues despite the disappointing sales of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Additionally, director Naoki Hamaguchi and producer Yoshinori Kitase spoke to share news about the development. The property is currently completed, the concepts are available and production has therefore fully begun. See you in a few years, especially if teams decide to make a change to the game engine, which is not certain at the time of writing.
This globally successful Final Fantasy returns unexpectedly
Square Enix didn’t have the expected success with FF7 Rebirth and FF16, but can still count on one of the best Final Fantasy games in the series: FF14. The MMORPG that had a very complicated beginning before being completely reborn and attracting millions of players. This summer, website Exuter hinted that the title could return as a mobile game. Well, the Japanese publisher has made a big announcement on that note with the official release of Final Fantasy 14 Mobile.
This Final Fantasy XIV mobile, developed by Lightspeed Studios (a subsidiary of Tencent), will be released in China first. “Adjustments will be made based on player feedback during the later planned global release.” states Square Enix. A project overseen by Naoki Yoshida, the goal is to faithfully recreate the story, combat and other aspects of the original game – such as activities (fishing, chocobo racing, etc.) – and be available on consoles and PC. Of course, the entire community aspect of Final Fantasy 14 will also be there. The aim is therefore to be as close as possible to the basic version but by adapting it to the iOS and Android mobile platforms, in particular by reviewing the graphics.
“Non-combat features like Disciples of the Earth and Hand will also be faithfully implemented, and we look forward to growing with the passionate Final Fantasy 14 community.” explains Naoki Yoshida. However, there is neither a release date nor an explanation of the economic model, which may need further development depending on feedback.
