A superb military shooter doesn’t seem to slow down. We’re talking about Insurgency Sandstorm, which scratches the 90 points in our test and is still getting free new content four years after its release.

New World Interactive developers regularly release new ones Operations, which bring maps, modes, weapons and cosmetic items. Most recently, Counter-Strike-style bomb disposal was added, now Operation Accolade follows, bringing a new map to the tactical shooter, Lastlight.

And there’s more in Update 1.14. We give you an overview of the most important innovations. If you want to get a first impression of the game, please watch our latest test video:

New map, weapons and more

The main new content for Insurgency Sandstorm is:

New game world: The map Lastlight is again set in the Middle East scenario and revolves around a winding coastal town, which is characterized by numerous closely spaced buildings and tourism. It works as usual for both co-op and PvP modes.

New Weapons: The two new assault rifles MDR (security forces) and SG 552 (insurgents) complete the weapon repertoire of the hardcore shooter.

The developers are also changing the balance of the relatively new Bomb Defusal mode with update 1.14 by adjusting the map layouts for the mode. Details and pictures can be found in Blogpost on Steam.

In addition, Operation Accolade brings new cosmetic items and clothing sets that can be earned for free, as well as paid DLC sets for Insurgency Sandstorm.

The persistent effort that the developers of New World Interactive put into it is particularly remarkable, since the player base with four-digit simultaneously active users remains relatively manageable. It still seems to be worth it – for the fans too.
