Netflix has a lot planned this year, with two big releases coming next month. And it’s the SF feature film Spaceman, which will open the ball from March 1st with Adam Sandler and Paul Dano (The Riddler in The Batman). A week later, the platform will also release another highly anticipated project that was quite expensive. In fact, the company with the red N has invested $70 million to create an epic spectacle. To star, Netflix wasn’t far behind. The platform once again relies on Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven in the series Stranger Things. She will star alongside Nick Robinson (Kong Skull Island), Shohreh Aghdashloo (24 Hours Chrono), Robin Wright (House of Cards) and Angela Bassett in several Marvel productions, including Black Panther.
This is clearly an event film for Netflix, which may be hoping to turn it into a franchise. The SVOD service indeed needs major projects to continue creating an identity and continually attracting people. The latest trailer for “The Lady and the Dragon” (Damsel) definitely shows some visual ambition, but the rest has to be up to standard. It will be available on Netflix on March 8, 2024.
