When it was released in summer 2021, the action role-playing game The Ascent particularly impressed with its dense cyberpunk atmosphere, breathtaking graphics and spectacular battles from the iso perspective. In the test, however, we had to downgrade the game due to technical problems:
The Ascent Nachtest
Why we stick to the devaluation despite everything
If you were still satisfied with The Ascent, you can from August 18th look forward to a lot of new content. Because the recently announced extension Cyber Heist wants to continue the story of the game with new quests, locations and weapons. You can find out what is known about the DLC so far here.
This job is top secret
The Cyber Heist story begins after The Ascent story and is only accessible if you have fully completed it. Your former employer Kira offers you a job that only you can find out about and that lets you travel to the new territory of the Malhorst-Gelb Group.
You can already see what awaits you there in the official trailer for the expansion:

The Ascent: The expansion brings new locations, quests and melee weapons to Cyber Heist
What’s new?
Melee Weapons: You’ve probably already seen it in the trailer, but there will be melee weapons for the first time in Cyber Heist. Also included is some sort of futuristic katana, and apparently also a massive hammer called the Rock Crusher, which can be seen in the expansion’s key art. New firearms will probably also be added.
Lots of new locations: You are exploring a new city owned by the Malhorst-Gelb group. Not only new overworld locations and environments await you there, you also have to face previously unknown enemies.
Main and side quests: A new story awaits you that ties into the events of The Ascent and introduces you to new characters. You can tackle the quests solo or in co-op, but at least the host must have completed the base game main quest. A number of new side quests are also part of the expansion.
What do you think of the first information about the new expansion? Are you curious how it will fight with melee weapons or how the story will continue? Or were you rather disappointed with The Ascent and don’t want to play Cyber Heist at all? Write your opinion in the comments!
