Starfield still has a ways to go to compete with the legendary Skyrim, but this patch could go a long way in earning points with players.
Starfield has no shortage of ambition and qualities that make exploring the vast galaxy that Bethesda envisioned interesting. However, the execution sometimes leaves something to be desired, especially since the gameplay or mechanics have evolved relatively little since Skyrim or Fallout 4. This is particularly the case when loading times, especially in the city, are too long and the gaming experience becomes slower as a result. That’s exactly what a mod from PanConKes0 pleasantly corrected.
Finally, pleasant city walks in Starfield
Despite a brand new version of the creation engine developed specifically for Starfield, the title lags behind in some aspects technically compared to other RPGs of the same type, such as Cyberpunk 2077. This is particularly due to the loading times between almost everything included in it buildings a city. To get from point A to point B you often have to go through multiple loading times in a very short amount of time. Something that is of course quite painful in the long run.
This is where the aptly named Seamless City Interiors mod from PanConKes0 comes into play. As the name suggests, it offers the possibility of completely eliminating charging times during our walks around the city. To achieve this, the mod makes Starfield’s code believe that indoor locations are actually outdoor locations. Opening a door is therefore completely natural and without waiting time. You can see the result in the modder’s video below.
Unfortunately, as useful as this mod is, it is still in a very embryonic stage and is only available on PC. PanConKes0 has only been able to apply it to a few areas of Neon City so far. It will therefore be necessary to wait a certain amount of time before this solution is applied to other locations in Starfield. In fact, his Shattered Space DLC unfortunately doesn’t benefit from this either.
