The world of cinema and series has as many curiosities to comment on as video games. Film sets are an industrial generator of these stories and generally come to us during interviews with the actors themselves. Without going any further, we recently remembered when Russell Crowe revealed an anecdote with director Ridley Scott during the filming of the first scene of Gladiator.
Now it’s the turn of Charlie Hunnam, who we recently saw in Rebel Moon de Zack Snyder (Netflix) and previously in other films such as The Gentlemen (film), King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword and Pacific Rim. Although his most famous role was as Jax Teller in the series Sons of Anarchy (2008-2014) for 7 seasons or 92 episodes.
Since Sons of Anarchy came to an end in 2014, Hunnam has participated in many interviews and they have all made time to ask about the biker series. In July 2016, the medio Entertainment Tonight
“Literally everything that wasn’t nailed to the ground”
Within the world of cinema and series, the objects that actors use to characterize their characters have a huge niche. There are people who pay hundreds, thousands and millions for anything that a famous actor has used or that is part of the set of a work of the caliber of The Lord of the rings, Star Wars and others similar.
Although this is not always so. These objects end up in actors’ homes more often than we imagine. No one was surprised when Ryan Reynolds confessed that he went home dressed as Deadpool to get into the character better and because he simply liked him.
The Charlie Hunnam case with Sons of Anarchy It was on another level, although not as famous, because he literally took home all of Jax Teller’s objects: rings, jacket, clothes… and even the motorcycle. It is not an exaggeration or theory, he literally said that he even took the motorcycle because he considered that everything was his after 7 years filming the series. In fact, he admitted that he had it in his garage.
“I stole everything from Sons of Anarchy,” he said in another interview for Hits Radio. “I stole my motorcycle, I stole my jacket (you know the leather jacket), my rings… The whole costume. L iterally everything that wasn’t nailed to the ground, because after doing that series for 7 years, I thought it was more mine than theirs. So is it really theft?”
This is not a new practice. It has happened, it happens and it will continue to happen in the future. Although Charlie Hunnam took very valuable things like Jax Teller’s motorcycle, he is not by far the most eccentric or outstanding in this regard. Hunnam and Reynolds are joined by others such as (according to different sources):
Chris Hemsworth (Thor’s 5 hammers), Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen’s black armor), Rory McCan (her swords in Game of Thrones), Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley (her characters’ lightsabers), Ian McKellen (house key of Bilbo Baggins and some gold coins), Chris Pratt (Star Lord clothes), Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid’s yellow car) and Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man suit), among others.
