Warning, spoiler alert!
This article contains important information about the recent events in the One Piece manga. Please do so at your own risk if you decide to browse through and are not up to date on Eiichiro Oda’s work.
Remember. Currently, the Onigashima arc is still ongoing in the One Piece anime. Big Mom lost her fight against Kidd and Law when episode 1067 aired on July 2nd, and episode 1068, which airs on July 9th, will surely show us the continuation of the fight between Kaido and Luffy on the island’s roof. If, besides watching the anime, you are also quite advanced in the manga, you should know that the anime is approaching a very important event: the release of Gear 5! First revealed in Chapter 1044 of the One Piece manga, this Luffy power-up represents the awakening of his devil fruit but also the physical representation of Nika, the sun god. With Gear 5, our hero gets white hair and increased elastic power.
This moment will be greatly appreciated by One Piece fans who are only waiting for one thing: to see Gear 5 animated! The episode affected by this event is fast approaching and the community could well see this episode directly on the big screen, in the Grand Rex to be precise. And all thanks to a certain Inoxtag.
The facts came on the morning of July 5 when French Youtuber Inoxtag posted a tweet asking the Grand Rex theater directly how many RTs it would take for the Gear 5 episode to air in theaters. The official Grand Rex account immediately replied, “At 5000 RT, we’re starting to think about it.” The 5000 RTs in question were reached very quickly by the Inoxtag community, which joined forces with the community of One Piece fans. Currently, the corresponding tweet has received more than double from RT.
At 5000 RT we start thinking about it 😉

Inoxtag then tweeted: “Well done Nakamas. We’ll get caught by the Grand Rex if they manage to get the confirmation, there’s more than hope now.” Le Grand Rex took the opportunity to reply, “You know we love the One Piece community and that we will always do everything we can to organize events at Le Grand Rex!” Also, something is planned soon… We say that…”. In short: The Gear 5 episode in the cinema seems to be on the right track! And you, are you tempted?

The Grand Rex and Japanese animation, a great love story
It wouldn’t be the first time that the Grand Rex cinema has given pride of place to Japanese animation. The One Piece Red film was screened in the Great Hall on Boulevard Poissonnière in 2022. Ditto for the movie One Piece Stampede. Everyone remembers that viral video of the whole room singing the opening credits of One Piece: We Are together. And it’s not just One Piece that has benefited from these previews. This was also the case with Jujutsu Kaisen 0 or the various Demon Slayer films.
Le Grand Rex even organizes previews for shorter anime episodes. This happened in particular with episode 1000 of One Piece or even the first episodes of Chainsaw Man, Mob Psycho 100, Blue Lock or even Spy X Family. In short, anime in cinemas, we haven’t finished hearing about it yet.
