use Outlander, Square Enix and People Can Fly avoided adopting the instant service model, thus avoiding the current trend of robbing shooters, but aiming to provide players with a comprehensive experience from the launch date.
Many AAA robbery shooters call themselves real-time service platforms, with the intention of permanently using the roadmap to ensure content updates in the coming months and years. But, as evidenced by high-profile losers like Anthem, these plans are not always achievable, and the roadmap cannot be fulfilled.
The development of Outriders has been going on for four years after the People Can Fly in Poland was split from Epic Games to mid-2015.
"To be honest, this is our goal and direction," Szymon Barchan, chief narrative designer at Outriders, told VG247 during a recent preview event.
"We have a complete game where you can have all the fun. That was the plan four years ago, and these are the decisions and directions we insist on."
"For a complete kit, this is just one aspect," adds Rafal Pawlowski, chief designer of People Can Fly.
"Games are really expensive, and we want players to get all the prices when they launch."
Despite some ideas, "People Can Fly" is not ready to talk publicly about final game content like raids or additional dungeons.
However, there is a desire to turn Outriders into the flagship brands of Square Enix and People Can Fly.
"The absolute feeling is that we want to create a huge universe," Pawlowski explained.
"We are going to expand a huge universe. Currently, we are focused on delivering our recommendations."
"We are providing the full game, the full story," Barchan said. "Obviously, this is a very important IP for us, but it is also true for Square Enix."
Outriders plans to release Holiday 2020 on the current generation of consoles, PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. The release date has been postponed to better align with next-generation hardware.
